Terms of Service
The rules for using daytale.me and buying a Daytale book. Written to be read, not skimmed past.
Last updated: 11 October 2026
1. Who we are
Daytale (daytale.me) is run by Surreal seal, Sweden. You can reach us at support@daytale.me. We answer within three working days.
2. What Daytale is
Daytale writes and illustrates a personal, digital picture book about a grown-up's real job, for the children in their life. You describe the job and the family; AI models write the story and draw the pictures; you check and correct the result.
Daytale is an independent product built on third-party AI models. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the companies that make those models. See the AI notice.
The free /daytale skill is open source under the MIT license, which governs its use.
3. Prices and payment
Prices on the site include tax. You pay once per book or pack. There is no account and no subscription.
Payments are handled by Creem, our reseller and merchant of record. Creem sells the book to you, charges the right VAT or sales tax, and sends your receipt. Creem's terms of sale apply to the payment alongside these terms.
4. Delivery
Everything is digital. Nothing is printed or shipped. You get a private web book, a screen PDF, a print-ready PDF, and a coloring page.
A finished book is usually ready within ten minutes. We email you a private link. Anyone with the link can see the book, so share it only with people you choose. You can create and revoke family links.
5. Right of withdrawal
A Daytale book is digital content made to your own specification and delivered right after you pay. At checkout you ask us to start making it at once and confirm that you then lose the 14-day right of withdrawal. Your other rights under consumer law are not affected.
6. Refunds, changes, and mistakes
If we cannot deliver your book, you get your money back automatically.
Every book includes three picture changes and unlimited text edits. More changes can be bought. If something is wrong that a change cannot fix, write to us and we will make it right or refund you.
7. What you put in
You are responsible for the text you enter. Only describe yourself, your own family, and your own work, and only share what you are allowed to share. The Acceptable Use Policy applies to everything you enter and everything Daytale makes for you.
Never upload photos of children. A grown-up may add a photo of themselves; it is only turned into a written description and deleted at once.
Every text you write is checked by an automated content filter before anything is generated. We do not generate content that breaks the rules and may refuse or stop a book that does.
8. Made with AI
The words and pictures are made by AI models. They can contain mistakes: a fact about your job may be wrong, or a picture may not match your description exactly. That is why you check the story before paying, and why changes are included. The pictures are illustrations, not likenesses of real people.
9. Your book and our service
You may keep the book, read it, share it with family and friends, and print it for personal use. You may not resell it or use it commercially.
The service, the templates, the layouts, and the Daytale name are ours. You let us use what you enter only to make, change, and deliver your book. We only show a book publicly if you explicitly choose to, and never with names.
10. Previews and access codes
The free preview and any access codes may change or end at any time. Access codes are personal and may not be sold.
11. Responsibility
We take care to run Daytale well, but we are only responsible as far as the law requires. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer.
12. Deleting your book
You can delete your book and its data at any time with the link in your email, or by writing to support@daytale.me. See the privacy policy.
13. Changes and disputes
We may update these terms; the version on this page at the time of your purchase applies to it.
Swedish law applies, and you keep the consumer protection of the country you live in. If we cannot agree, you can turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN).
